This weekend is Victoria Day weekend. While the adults were having their Spring Revival Conference, the children were doing a Children Prayer Retreat. On Friday night, we talked about Spiritual Warfare. I like the "knighting Ceremony Part" the most, where children learned that they were also "knighted" to be God's soldier once they were born again. They also learned about the 4 Rs of prayer (Repent, Rebuke, Receive and Replace). On Sunday morning, We preached on King Josiah at the children worship. 15 plus kids pledge a covenant before the Lord to follow God with all their heart. They even signed their promise with a "seal"!. At night we talked about "Submission to Authority". What impressed me most is the work of the Holy Spirit. We asked children to make sorry card to those they have been disobedient with. The Holy Spirit convicted all children to seriously making a card to a "specific person" and to say sorry to them for the specific things they have done wrong. No wonder God wants us to be like a child, as they have simple faith!.
At AWANA, I also shared the gospel with a grade 1 child and led her to receive Christ. She was very attentive and serious when I shared it with her. Again, God bless kids with simple faith and heart!
This year we were able to recruit parents to help teaching the Children prayer retreat, and this is really helpful. Hope more parents will involve in shepherding their child spiritually in the future!
