Coming to the fifth day of the VBS, kids were more familiar with the songs, I can tell that they really enjoyed them and follow along. In total, we had 35 kids today, with 2 new comers. Today is a special day too....first, this is David Ko's birthday, we asked the kids to sing "Happy Birthday" to him. Second, the kids had a celebration wrap up party which we invited the parents to come and we had a hugh chocolate cake, with sandwiches, chips, watermelon.
Just like every other day, besides songs, the kids had video clips, bible story, games, snacks and the "Lamb"'s story, we got a very short time to talk to them about the salvation after the video, some kids are church kids, whether they come from Christian or Catholic church, I think they get a refresh in what the gospel is, and why Jesus died for them. Some younger kids, they seemed to understand a bit. But I have to say that some of them, they cannot read and seems a bit lost in the conversation. In the end we give out 4 bibles to 4 different girls whom either not have a bible at all or they showed that they would like to accept Jesus as their savior. One way or the other, I think they have God's words in the heart.
Besides taking pictures with the kids, it also feel so good when a particular kid says I want to sit with you and give you a hug as they are going. I think love is both ways, not only that we try to show our love to them, they also show their love to us.
The highlights for the afternoon is clean up, wrap up and tidy up. Then we did some songs practice.
In the evening, originally, we would like to join the movie night outreach program from the Pentacostal church. They were run by a team from Surrey, and there we met some of the same kids we met in the VBS. And these kids got much more energy as they can still do this relay game. And we would like to finish the day earlier by sitting around and Fiona & Wai Ho are fighting over "A PUZZLE".
